Is Your Liver Keeping You From Overcoming Lyme?

This is where the liver comes in. The liver is the body’s largest detoxification organ which means with a sluggish or compromised liver, treatment attempts will be wastefully prolonged and end in failure (I speak from experience).

Now, the liver has a whole host of responsibilities. It produces bile, which breaks down our food during digestion. It Is responsible for the flow of blood and water throughout the body and stores blood. The liver is also closely associated with the eyes and is the organ responsible for anger!

That’s right, your unexplained anger issues stem from an imbalance in the liver! (Think about the angry drunk… a tell tale sign that that person’s liver is not happy with their night out) Each of our organs have different roles, are attached to their own meridians, and correlate to different nerves and hormones, and therefore have direct relations with certain emotions. But of course, there’s a bit more to it than that.

In Chinese medicine the regulatory role of the liver is expressed mainly in four areas:

  1. Pushes the body’s “qi”
  2. Digestive imbalances
  3. Emotional Health
  4. Women’s physiology
